“VOM GLÜCK DER FREIHEIT” – WITH A GUEST CONTRIBUTION BY ANNA KLOSE
Frankfurt, October 2022: In his new book “Vom Glück der Freiheit”, German best-selling author Florian Langenscheidt talks about the ups and downs of starting a business. Alongside other guest writers worth reading, such as Jochen Schweizer, I also had the opportunity to report on some special moments during the development of my Hamburg manufactory. It turns out that there are quite a few similarities between my life as an entrepreneur and horse riding – as this excerpt from the book shows:
„The nice thing about starting a business is that you hold the reins to your own happiness. For me, this is comparable to a demanding jumping course, where I may know my goal and all the obstacles and yet never know what awaits me in the next second. Sometimes the first jump gives me problems, sometimes the last one - and if I'm not careful, I've landed completely in the dirt because it threw me off my "high horse". Still, it's worth every risk. The next day things can go better again, maybe without mistakes, and every now and then I even manage the best time.”
Entrepreneurship is like an exciting jumping course
Yes, starting a business is truly a special ride. In my Hamburg manufactory, I feel the connection between power and elegance that equestrian sports convey to us every day. And also the good feeling of freedom that feels like flying on the back of a horse. It's a constant trial and error, balancing and the willingness to get back up again after setbacks.
I hope that my article will inspire you and other founders. Feel invited to follow my little story. Just take a look – and have fun reading!
